So, the time has come to get window coverings for your home in Summerfield. Should you choose curtains or drapes? Maybe shutters are the way to go, or perhaps blinds are your best bet? Before you know it, your head is spinning, and you are beginning to remember the reason why you put window coverings off in the first place. Don’t stress - The experts at A Shade Better understand! Even if you have changed window coverings once or twice before, it’s not something you do every day, and it’s natural to feel a little overwhelmed. However, when it comes to choosing the best type of window covering for your windows, it’s really quite simple. A few practical tips will help you get a better understanding of what type of window coverings will serve you best.

The same type of window covering may not work for every room in your home - Any window covering has three main tasks: to provide light control, provide privacy and security (if needed), and be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The trick is to choose the window covering that will provide you with adequate levels of all three for the specific application. Not to mention that certain kinds of window coverings work better in certain rooms. For example, you probably wouldn’t want to install floor-length draperies in your bathroom, or contemporary wood blinds on the window above the kitchen sink. Perhaps the most important thing to remember when choosing window coverings, is to always try to put function before style. It’s helpful to ask yourself two questions: First, how much light do you want coming in through your windows? And second, what level of privacy do you desire? If you’re like most homeowners, you may have a different answer for every room in the house.

Tips for window coverings in the kitchen - When you are installing window coverings in your kitchen, consider taking a minimalistic approach. This means that you should avoid anything that would be too heavy - like draperies. Ideally, the kitchen should be a bright room, with plenty of access to natural lighting. This can be achieved with better blinds, pleated shades, or maybe even roman shades.  Any of these will adequately provide light control and privacy, each doing with with a different look and functionality.

A Shade Better provides quality window coverings to meet the needs of your entire home - Are there certain rooms in your home that always seem to be hotter or colder than the rest of the house? Duette or Applause Honeycomb shades are an excellent choice for dealing with insulation issues. By design these shades trap the air and allow it to act as insulation, providing you with superior energy efficiency.

Our Wood, Poly (Vinyl), or Hybrid shutters can easily turn your home into a work of art! These shutters come in a wide variety of configurations and finishes. Best of all, we have so many colors to choose from, that you won’t have any trouble picking out the perfect finish to match your décor. A Shade Better offers every type of window covering you could desire for your home in Summerfield, NC. We can’t wait to help you create the home of your dreams! Call us today for your free estimate!

I thought your suggestions for choosing windows treatments was really helpful! I'm not good with home decor, so your tip to avoid heavy drapes in the kitchen was really helpful. I'll definitely keep this in mind as I choose window treatment for my home.

You did a great job of explaining that there's no need to get stressed while choosing for the right window coverings. This is very timely because I am trying to help my mom in redecorating her house. She's torn between a shade and drapery.

I need to find window blinds for my home and you make a great point that the first thing to think about is how much light you want coming through the windows. For me, I really like natural light coming through the windows, so blinds that are adjustable would be best for me. Also, it makes sense that you should think about the privacy that the blinds offer so that my family can feel comfortable and secure.

I like your tip about taking a minimalist approach to your kitchen window coverings to let more natural light in. My wife has a bit of a vision impairment, and she also spends a lot of her time whipping up cool new recipes that she learned in the kitchen. The sun gets in her way sometimes, but we do not want to block it completely. I will be sure to remember this tip when the budget for new shades comes up.

I would love to get new blinds for my windows. It's good to know that when choosing window treatments in a kitchen, you should go with ones that are more minimalistic. You don't want to get ones that are heavy. I agree that the kitchen should be kept bright, like you mentioned.

Thanks for pointing out that window coverings in the kitchen shouldn't be too heavy, so blinds or shades will be a good choice. My husband and I recently redecorated our kitchen and want to get new window treatments as well. I like the idea of having natural light in the kitchen, so I think blinds will be a good choice for us!

My sister hasn't decided if she should choose curtains or drapes for her bedroom. Since the same type of window covering may not work for every room, I can tell her that it's okay if she uses multiple treatments for different rooms. I might suggest her to use shades for her bedroom if she has insulation issues in her bedroom.

It was interesting when you said that not all window treatments will work for all the rooms in the house, so one must consider different styles. My mom wants to replace some of the windows in the house, and she will need to install new blinds for each room. I will be sure to help her find a specialist so she can be helped with choosing the right shades for her house.

I like the advice you gave to put function over style when buying window coverings. My wife wants to get window coverings that match the color of our living room but they don't provide a lot of privacy. I want ones, that cancel out light, noise, and are energy-efficient regardless of color.

I like that this post shared with us that when choosing window coverings for our kitchen, it is best to proceed with a minimalistic approach. It makes sense for us to go with minimalist design as the kitchen is where a lot of action occurs and can be a hazardous area. Since my wife plans on changing the window coverings, I will recommend her this for our kitchen.

wow, I had no idea that there are several ways to cover your home, and installing window blinds is one of them. My uncle is looking for ideas on how to make his home a bit darker since the sunlight is distracting him. I'll recommend that he reach out to someone that can install a window blind for him.

I love that you said that to find a window's perfect cover, it has to provide light control, privacy and security control, and be pleasing to the eye. We're thinking about ways to improve our house's aesthetic and for it to have a practical use too. After considering your tips about how for each window, you need a different cover, I think a rolling shutter for our living room would be a perfect fit because of its practical use of light control and its great design.

Making sure that she can get some help from a professional could allow her to make it look a lot nicer. I liked what you said about how she should think about how much privacy, and natural light she wants from her windows.
